My Beginner Palette

Hey guys!

So, I’ve seen quite a few bloggers who talk about eye palettes (E.L.F, SHANY, etc) and how they make a good beginner palette, but last summer I found what I like to call my beginner palette by L.A. Colors. I was at a store called Deals, which is almost like a Dollar Tree, and came across this little gem.

It’s a 50 color eyeshadow palette!

I was really excited, that I found a palette, with a lot of colors for $5 that I could play around with. The shadows are more powdery, so I would definitely suggest using a primer beforehand, especially if your eyelids get oily like mine do *sigh*

Some of the eye shadows are more pigmented than others, and those are the ones I tend to use more. I have to admit that I do have my favorite colors, and still have yet to experiment with every color. A few of the eye shadows have flicks of glitter, and I tend to stay away from those too, because the glitter isn’t fine/small enough for my liking. The other eye shadows all have a shine/shimmer to them, which I like because it makes my eyes look brighter. There are enough colors in this palette to create daytime and nighttime looks, which is why this makes a great beginners palette, and you get a lot of colors to play around with, without “breaking the bank”.

Nail Tip

You know how when you paint your nails, and you think they're dry, but they're not and you end up smudging them?...yeah, I hate that! So, the next time you paint your nails and you think they're dry, run your fingers under cold water. This actually helps dry and harden the polish faster, and you're more likely to have less smudges.

Funky Fingers

I decided to start my blog off with some awesome nail polish that I came across while shopping at a new store called Five Below.  For anyone who doesn’t know, or has never heard of it, it’s a store that sells many things from fashion accessories, DVDs, computer and cell phone accessories, makeup, stationary, novelty items, the list goes on and on, but the best thing is that everything is $5 and below!

I made a b-line to the makeup and beauty sections, and found this nail polish called Funky Fingers. There were so many colors and options that I really could’ve bought them all, but I refrained and bought 3 for $5. The color I’m wearing is called “Kingston”. At first glance I thought that it was just neon pink, but after wearing it, it has a somewhat orange tone to it as well. I haven’t noticed any early chipping or smudging, which is one thing I was pretty worried about since it isn’t top dollar stuff, but I love it. This color is perfect for the Spring/Summer time! I will definitely be going back to get more polishes from Five Below.
